Dormer's world-class training facilities allow the company to focus on customer's application requirements, hold customer surgeries for their machining problems and train not only Dormer employees from all around the world but also customers and students – the next generation of engineers.

In addition, the creation of a new research and development ‘centre of excellence' is one of only three such facilities worldwide. Tasked with identifying, devising and delivering new products and machining solutions, this will play a crucial role in the future of Dormer's business not just in the UK, but globally.

One particular success has been the development of new products for the machining of advanced aerospace materials – including composites, high performance drilling and specialist applications such as motorsport and medical equipment.

Dormer has, for some time, been involved in collaborative projects with The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) and its partners, which include Boeing and Rolls Royce.

Dormer's closer proximity has doubtless helped to cement these partnerships and facilitate increased cooperation with other businesses situated on the AMP.

To be positioned on a site which is dedicated to the advancement of manufacturing not just regionally or even nationally but, increasingly, internationally, dovetails perfectly with Dormer's philosophy of challenging the limits of engineering technology.
